Mulla Nazeer Ahmad – An introduction

• Born in 1395 h (1975) in Bermel, the Afghan territory of South Waziristan.
• After going through primary education in the local Madrassa, acquired religious education at the Central Madrassa at Wana (South Waziristan).
• During his education in 1995-96, participated in Jihad with the Taliban Mujahideen after the conquest of Mazar Sharif.
• Permanently became part of Jihad after Taliban’s conquest of Kabul.
• Participated in the operations against the Northern Alliance in Krabagh, Bagram, Qil’a Murad Baig and Jabal-us-Siraj.
• Took part in Jihad during the conquests of Bamian, Takhar, Qunduz and Badghees.
• Commenced Jihad against America from South Waziristan after the fall of the Islamic Emirate in Afghanistan.
• Nowadays, he is the Emir of the Taliban Mujahideen in South Waziristan (Wazir tribes) and member of the Shura Ittihad-ul-Mujahideen (Central Council of the allied Taliban groups in Pakistan)

As-Sahab: In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Most Merciful. All Praise is due to Allah, and prayers and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah.
We are pleased to host Mulla Nazeer Ahmad today on behalf of As-Sahab Foundation. Mulla Nazeer Ahmad is the emir of the Taliban Mujahideen among the Wazir tribes in Southern Waziristan. It is an honor for us to put forward today’s conversation to the Muslims throughout the world. Mulla Nazeer Ahmad! السلام عليكم و رحمة الله (peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah).
Mulla Nazir: وعليكم السلام ورحمة الله وبركاته (And upon you be peace and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.)



As-Sahab: We begin with the history of Jihad in this region, as we find in the history books, the accounts of the Mujahideen with Syyed Ahmad Shaheed and the Jihad against the British and then against Russia…would you tell us some detail about that?
Mulla Nazir: In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful. We praise Allah and send our salutations to His noble Messenger. As to what follows, I seek Allah’s refuge from the accursed Satan and begin in the name of Allah:
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ لاَ تَتَّخِذُواْ الْيَهُودَ وَالنَّصَارَى أَوْلِيَاء بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِيَاء بَعْضٍ وَمَن يَتَوَلَّهُم مِّنكُمْ فَإِنَّهُ مِنْهُمْ إِنَّ اللّهَ لاَ يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَ o (المائدة)
“O you who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors; they are but friends and protectors to each other. And he amongst you who turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily Allah guides not a people unjust.” (Al-Maida: 51).
Waziristan comprises of the Northern and Southern territories, but they are no different to each other. These tribes defeated Britain over this land. Even after the British had occupied the sub-continent, it was not possible for them to step in this land. They became tired of their continuous attempt to enter here but were unable to do so. Subsequently, they formulated the 40-FCR Regulation for us which gave them some rest and they started interfering over here……



As-Sahab: They got free passages......?
Mulla Nazir: Yes, they got passages and built their camps. But Hajji Mirza Ali Khan, who was emir of the Jihad at that time and lead the tribes…he began waging Jihad against them and dealt them with heavy blows. It were these tribes that defeated Britain…



As-Sahab: Did the British forces enter this region or they just used to bombard it?
Mulla Nazir: They did enter, but only in limited areas. They were confined to the camps they built, and this was because of the Jihadi resistance they were facing. We still find the tunnels built by the Mujahideen of those days in these mountains we are living in. Thereafter, the British came to the decision that they could not win here, and so their campaign was a complete failure.
Then came the Soviet era. The Soviets entered Afghanistan with great awe and terror. They had intended to enter Pakistan. At that time too, Jihad erupted from these tribal areas. I remember that my father took his gun, his bowl and some food for himself…because the Mujahideen did not have any cooperation at that time…so he prepared his own things and started Jihad against the Soviets with it. Russia was stopped from advancing, and from here the tribes started their participation in Jihad. Thereafter, all the Mujahideen came over to North and South Waziristan and set up bases here, and the Soviets were finally defeated. We feel proud in front of Allah that Russia too suffered defeat from our soil.



As-Sahab: During the *last seven years of Jihad against America, Waziristan has emerged as a stronghold and base for the Mujahideen from all over the world. Would you tell us about the movement of Jihad against America since the last seven years?
Mulla Nazir: When we came back to Waziristan after the American attack, the Mujahideen were somewhat worried. As we started once again, the first raid we carried out was on the American camp at Machadad, which lies inside the Afghan border adjacent to South Waziristan. This was one month after we came back here. One of our brothers, Sayd Mohammad was martyred in that operation. We were worried about how to inform at his house and also afraid that his body might deteriorate because we had not been able to bring it back with us, and the people would then hate us and taunt us about it. After seven days we were able to get him back. After seven days we found him as good as ever and more handsome than before. The people came out in the form of a procession to have a look at him. After this event, our numbers against America increased and the people started cooperating and taking part in Jihad themselves.
Then our operations became more often. The first area we took over in Afghanistan was Bermel, the district headquarter of New Ada. Molvi Iqbal was commanding that operation and took over the area completely. We also got the spoils of war. Then we attacked the district headquarter at Shikin and got booty over there too. Then there was another of their bases which we seized and eighteen soldiers were burnt alive there…



As-Sahab: …Were these Americans?
Mulla Nazir: No, they were Afghan soldiers. After that we started executing ambushes, missile attacks and IED explosions continuously. Sometimes we also used to raid their bases. Then there was the “Bandar Qil’a” which was a very big fort in Afghanistan that the Russians had used before and the Americans had occupied it now. By the grace and mercy of Allah, we conquered it completely and returned with the booty, which is still in record with us. After this we took over the Tameel district headquarter from where we got eighteen guns, four pistols and a motorcycle as spoils. Then we raided and seized the Gumna DHQ and burned one of their cars and took another with us along with the guns of booty.
Our companions used to go to different areas like Ghazni and Zabul, but the Pakistani government started hindering our path. In the beginning we had intended Jihad against America and had not meant to fight here, but when the Pakistani government became an obstacle for us and started hindering our passages, destroying our bases, martyring our brothers and ambushing and arresting them from their routes…we were left no choice other than directing our weapons towards the Pakistani Government.



As-Sahab: You are the Emir of the Taliban among the Wazir tribes in South Waziristan. Is the group of Taliban over here under the Islamic Emirate (in Afghanistan) and the Emir of the Believers, or is it a separate organization that makes its decisions itself? Also tell us that if you are under the Emir of the Believers, Mulla Muhammad Omar Mujahid are you in contact with him, i.e., and does he give you instructions and guidance, or do you administer the system over here yourselves?
Mulla Nazir: The Emir of the believers is Emir of the Jihad too. The Mujahideen all over the world accept him as their Emir.



As-Sahab: So does he send his representatives that meet you or something like that?
Mulla Nazir: It is no difficult to meet them through our border that touches Afghanistan. We do meet their representatives, and they are our Mujahid brothers. We meet each other, but sometimes it is difficult for them so they are unable to come.



As-Sahab: When the brothers with you go into Afghanistan, do they take part in Jihad with the Afghan Taliban and under their command?
Mulla Nazir: Yes, they work under them. Whichever province our brothers go to, they work under the command of the local Emir of the Taliban in that province.



As-Sahab: Here in the land of Khurasan, emigrant Mujahideen have come along with their families. What sort of relation and cooperation do you have with them?
Mulla Nazir: We have the same relation with each other that a Muhajir (the emigrant) has with his Ansaar (the Helpers). We our brothers to each other, and we have served them and provided them shelter because they have left their homes for Jihad. They are our Muslim and Mujahid brothers. We have not let anyone seize them, and have warred those who try to harm them. And anyone who tries to hurt or arrest our Mujahid brothers in future, we declare Jihad against them and we will fight them. We never surrender any single of our Muslim brothers.



As-Sahab: Does the local population of South Waziristan supports and backs the Jihad too, or do you face any opposition from them or something like that?
Mulla Nazir: No, they are supportive people. Had they not supported us we could not have lived here. They are the Muslims who have fought the Soviets and the British before, and are proud to serve the Mujahideen today. They are eager to have us with them for meals and feel honored to serve the Mujahideen and believe this to bring great reward to them. Even if they cannot participate in Jihad practically, they want at least to serve the Mujahideen. So all our tribes are behind our back and are with us.



As-Sahab: What sort of cooperation do you have with the local Taliban groups of Waziristan and of other tribes in Pakistan? The news and glad tidings about the Alliance that we hear nowadays, what would you say about its features and details?
Mulla Nazir: All praise is due to Allah. It is by the grace and mercy of Allah that the severance, enmity, detachment and the differences that had been created between us…it turned out to be the wickedness of our enemies. Foremost among them is the ISI. They dreaded that Mulla Nazeer, Baitullah and Gul Bahadur unite in an alliance. Thus we made our effort and crushed their plots by the grace and mercy of Allah. You might have heard in the news that we joined forces in an alliance. Now we shall defend ourselves against any enemy as one.
We have reached the conclusion that the differences between us had been provoked by the ISI and our enemies. It was the ISI that had inflamed the hatred and hostility between the Wazir and Mehsud nations. For this reason, we have forgotten all our differences and merged in this alliance as one. There shall be no more disputes in future, and any differences that arise shall be solved by the thirteen-member Shura that has been formulated. Allah willing, the Jihad shall become more rapid and fiery.





As-Sahab: If the Pakistan Army carries out some operation or there is an American attack, will all the tribes and the Mujahideen over here wage Jihad which mutual cooperation?
Mulla Nazir: Yes, absolutely. Whatever is going on here, even now it is under America’s command. The Pakistan Army is the executing force. If the Pakistan Army means to carry out an operation again, then we shall answer it as one. All the tribes and the Mujahideen in North and South Waziristan shall retaliate simultaneously, and the reply shall be much more severe than before.



As-Sahab: You told us that the brothers with you are waging Jihad at different fronts inside Afghanistan too. What objectives of this Jihad do you have in view? If America flees from Afghanistan, the Mujahideen are triumphant and the Islamic system and the Shariah is implemented in Afghanistan by the grace of Allah once again…will your Jihad come to a halt…or do you have something further than that in mind?
Mulla Nazir: No, no…our Jihad is against kufr, and to get back our lands that kufr has occupied, and our Jihad is meant to make supreme the Word of Allah and to establish the system of Shariah. Our Jihad isn’t limited to Pakistan or Afghanistan. We do not even accept these parting boundaries that “this shall be Pakistan” and “that shall be Afghanistan”…this is nothing but an inanity devised by the Jews and we reject it. All Muslims are our brothers, may they be in Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Palestine or anywhere in the world. It is impossible to create division between Muslims, and the present partitions are utterly rejected. Our Jihad is a global Jihad, and we aim to liberate Muslims throughout the world and obliterate tumult, oppression and mischief, and establish the system of Shariah all over the world. We want the Law of Allah on the Land of Allah.



As-Sahab: Some people in Pakistan and even some of those who support the Jihad in Afghanistan claim that Pakistan is an Islamic country; its government and army are Islamic institutions that defend Muslims: Then why do the Mujahideen fight them and how can Jihad be lawful against them? Do you believe that this government is an Islamic government and this army is a Muslim army that defends Muslims? What has been your experience regarding its role in the past few years?
Mulla Nazir: The blessed verse that I recited before informs us about the decision of Allah (the Glorious, the Great) regarding this matter:
“O you who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors: they are but friends and protectors to each other. And he amongst you who turns to them (for friendship) is of them.” (Al-Maida: 51)
So it is a decided matter. Pakistan has helped the Jews and the Christians and took them for friends, so it has become one of them.
“…Verily Allah guides not a people unjust.”
This too is true about them. They have been unjust and cruel; having martyred so many of our tribesmen…they have transgressed and aided the Jews and Christians, and have become one of them. This is Allah’s verdict. So we do not consider this government an Islamic government. This government has killed innocents and sent blameless persons to Cuba in return of dollars. Even now they are martyring Muslims and they haven’t stopped. Thus, this government is no Islamic government, nor is it legal according to the Shariah. It has sided kufr and its laws are laws of kufr, so we do not believe it to be Islamic.
As-Sahab: Pakistan has a democratic system implemented in it, and many people who are earnest to the religion, with even many Ulema among them, are struggling to implement an Islamic system by way of democracy and elections. What is your view about such efforts? Many people also have the opinion that Taliban should lay down their weapons and participate in elections and talk about their rights in the parliament. What is your opinion in this matter?
Mulla Nazir: No, no, we do not accept Democracy. It is code of law formulated by kufr. Allama Iqbal has also said that it is a system in which people are merely counted, not weighed. And this counting can include Shiites, Christians and drunkards alike…and then they elect an emir (ruler) for us! What suffices is that it has been devised by kufr and we can never ever accept it. I have never casted a vote myself. In our own region too, I have made it clear that vote-casting is unlawful and it will remain so in future, may the candidate be a religious scholar or someone else. We utterly reject Democracy, which has been originated by kufr and has no trace of Islam in it.



As-Sahab: Do the truthful Ulema in Pakistan support and back the Jihad? Or let’s say; who of them are supportive? What is your opinion about the large number of Ulema that has been martyred in Pakistan during the last three to four years, like Mufti Nizamuddin Shamzai and Mufti Ateeq-ur-Rahman (may Allah have mercy upon them): Was the main reason behind their assassination their support for Jihad, or were their some other reasons?
Mulla Nazir: Ulema do support us, but they are few in number. It is true that five hundred Ulema issued their fatwas against the Pakistani government and against the Waziristan operation, but the government martyrs such Ulema, and Mufti Shamzai was among those of them. This is because they stood up for the Mujahideen and supported them and issued fatwas for them. They supported the oppressed ones and demanded the operation in Waziristan to be halted. This was the reason they were assassinated by the government. Mufti Ateeq-ur-Rahman is also one of the martyred Ulema. Many others have been put in jail. The government does not spare such scholars. We are sad to say that most Ulema have deserted us. All we ask for is that they be with us, and are grateful to all those who supported us. Proclaiming the truth is the responsibility of the Ulema in fact, as they are the heirs of the Prophets. Nevertheless, a very few of them have stood up for us and this is because the Pakistani government martyrs, arrests and troubles them if they do so. There is no scarcity of Ulema in Pakistan, but they do not come forward. Those who have come forward are with us in our base camps. They go forth for Jihad themselves and participate in the operations with us.



As-Sahab: If the Government or the Army of Pakistan tries to convince you through negotiations or agreements or any other sort of dialogue that you put down your weapons and we will implement the Shariah in some limited area, as it has happened in Malakand; what will you say about this? Will our struggle come to a standstill at this point?
Mulla Nazir: The Pakistani Government is not sincere in their gesture with the people of Malakand. It is not true in its promise of giving them the Shariah system. This is no more than a warfare tactic of theirs. There is a war of Kalashnikovs and bullets and there is a war of politics. They are trying to shove them into the bog of politics, and only intend to proceed with their mission by this. I say again: Pakistan is not sincere with the people of Malakand. We do not demand the Shariah in Malakand or Waziristan only; rather, we want it in all of Pakistan. The demands of laying down weapons are only meant to deceive the Mujahideen. We shall never put down our weapons until this mischief ends and the rule of Shariah is established in Pakistan.



As-Sahab: So would you accept a system of Shariah on the same lines upon which the government of Pakistan presently is, with Zardari as its president and Kiani as Chief of the Army Staff? If these people implement the Shariah with themselves remaining in power, would you then accept such a rule of Shariah?
Mulla Nazir: Not at all. With these individuals remaining in power, it is ridiculous to think that Shariah would ever be as it should be. These are cronies of America. Pakistan has the British law implemented in it, and its educational system is that devised by Lord Macaulay. With this at hand, we cannot accept the supposed Shariah. The Supreme Court remains imposed upon our heads and then they say: “We donate the Shariah to Waziristan while they work under us”…sorry, we can’t accept this. Rather, our invitation is extended to them too. Let you come with us, establish Shariah in Pakistan and “enter wholly into Islam”…and we will be with you. We are not hostile to them for any reason except that they sided with kufr; their law is the law of kufr… while we demand the Shariah. This is why we oppose them.



As-Sahab: Waziristan has been heavily targeted by missile attacks during the last year. You were also targeted in one of these attacks in which you suffered wounds. Likewise many Mujahideen who had served Jihad for a long time were martyred in these attacks. How, in this situation, is the morale of the Mujahideen and to what stage has their struggle reached? Has the kufr triumphed by these intensive attacks or are the Mujahideen still firm and unwavering on the path of Jihad?
Mulla Nazir: It is true that we have grieved by what has happened, but this has strengthened the Mujahid network rather than weakening it. The blood of a martyr raises many more martyrs. The number of our Mujahid brothers has increased by these attacks. It has not decreased. The Americans had planned that they would annihilate the Taliban movement by besieging them in Afghanistan, but the Mujahideen surfaced once again from over here. They were unable to finish them off. Whenever there is an attack over here, it turns out to swell our numbers rather than reducing them.



As-Sahab: Do you think that America is the sole culprit of these attacks or that Pakistan is involved in them too? If such is the case, than how do they execute these attacks? What means do they have of receiving intelligence about the whereabouts of the Mujahideen and their leaders and commanders?
Mulla Nazir: Pakistan has misled the common population that America carries out these attacks and we cannot do anything to stop them. All the spies that we have caught turned out to be employees of Pakistan. The location-tracking SIMs that they use had been provided by Pakistan. We have also released their video clips. The spyware and intelligence is fully associated with the Army. A couple of days ago, an American CIA officer confessed that Pakistan’s airbases are being used for these attacks and that Pakistan itself is involved in them. They have even threatened us themselves that it is we who are striking you and that either you should renounce Jihad or we would attack. The assertion that America is behind this and we are helpless is only meant to deceive the public. All these attacks that have happened and are still happening are the work of Pakistan.



As-Sahab: What steps are you taking to prevent such attacks? Firstly, how can the spy aircrafts be stopped; and secondly, what is their intelligence channel and what measures are you undertaking to impede it?
Mulla Nazir: We are taking measures to catch spies. We do not spare those who are proven guilty…but only after acquiring genuine evidence. This sedition has been pioneered by the government of Pakistan. They have put men into deceit by making them do their dirty work for them, and they do it in return of a few rupees. Thus we warn such people to renounce this occupation as it only brings them disaster…and they aren’t spared by the Mujahideen. We do not spare anyone who works for kufr; who works for Pakistan.



As-Sahab: And do you have some technique against the spy planes, like some weapon that you may have used and succeeded with it? Or are we helpless in front of them?
Mulla Nazir: We still have our earlier weaponry with us. We have the defensive guns that have been brought into play again and they have been useful.



As-Sahab: Four or five months earlier a spy plane was shot down near Angur Ada and there was news that another one had been damaged, probably by receiving some fire. The media propagated that the Pakistan Army had hit the planes or their border security forces had fired at them…?
Mulla Nazir: No, no. They were shot down by our Mujahid brothers with the Shilka weapon. A couple of planes were downed, and we informed the media that they had been shot down by us and not Pakistan. Pakistan is the one that operates them, how can it shoot them down?



As-Sahab: The operation against Mujahideen continues in different tribal areas of Pakistan like Bajaur, Swat Mehmand and Darra Adam Khel etc. How is the situation over there according to the intelligence you reach? Has the morale of the Mujahideen declined or are they still unwavering?
Mulla Nazir: The morale of the Mujahideen is exceedingly high. The propaganda by Pakistan about having killed them in large numbers is a mere bluff. The Mujahideen are strengthening with every passing day. The more they are forced down, the more they shine and their spirits are elevated.
Here in the tribal areas, The Mujahideen are content with war. When there is no war, they start depressing. We are not afraid of war. War has raised the spirits of the Mujahideen. Their numbers have multiplied and they are gaining success after success. Of the entire tribal belt, first we rose in Wana only; then in Miramshah, and now our Mujahideen have spread out till Swat…and if they coerce us and launch an operation against us again, then these Mujahideen will be on their way to Islamabad.

As-Sahab: The religious class in Pakistan has been associated with the Jihad in Kashmir since many decades. What is your opinion about the Jihad in Kashmir and the role of the government and the ISI in it?
Mulla Nazir: The Jihad in Kashmir and those who have offered sacrifices in it have done it with sincerity. But we believe that we are not achieving the objectives for which we lay down our lives. This is an affair running under the ISI and it is ludicrous to hope that the Shariah or Islam shall come this way. Thus the Jihad through which the ISI has put people into deception can bear no fruit. Our advice to those of our brothers is that they should support us here and join forces with us. We offer sacrifices to establish the Shariah and the law of Allah. The Kashmiri Jihad does not help us forward in achieving our objectives. There is a law of kufr in India and a law given by the British in Pakistan. One of these two brands of kufr shall prevail in Kashmir. It isn’t Islam that would reign…and so our sacrifices will go in vain. Therefore, we advise those Mujahideen to come together with us and work under the Emir of the Believers. Let your direction veer towards the Americans for now and your Jihad be in keeping with the Emir’s commands. Your sacrifices shall bear fruit; the Shariah shall be established and Allah’s land shall witness Allah’s law upon it. It is our sincere advice to those of our Mujahid brothers that they should renounce servitude to the ISI.



As-Sahab: During the last days, the Mujahideen executed operations in Bombay and killed numerous Christians, Jews and Hindus in them. How do you feel about that? Also tell us that if in the forthcoming days, the Hindus assault the Muslims in Pakistan, how will you wage Jihad against them? Likewise, do you have any future intentions regarding Kashmir and to stop the injustice and tyranny upon the Kashmiri people?
Mulla Nazir: We do not know the Mujahideen who sacrificed their lives in India, but we lament our loss that why we could not go forth ourselves to lay down our lives there. The sacrifice they offered was a very great one. It lofted the spirits of the Mujahideen. We pray for them and consider them to be sincere with Allah.
As for India, it should know that immense numbers of the Mujahideen lie await for them here in the tribal areas and inside Pakistan. If it proceeds to attack, then let it be aware that Allah willing, we are fully able to answer back and too ready to give away our lives. Our reply shall be much more deadly than what we made them taste in Bombay.



As-Sahab: The Government along with some people in the media has created a lot of propaganda against the Mujahideen in the tribal belt that they have excessive resources and money and perhaps some foreign hand or agency is at their back and finances them. And that the weaponry with them is very new too. Similarly, some other people accuse them of being Indian agents, who have been infiltrated by India to plot against Pakistan. What will you say to answer this accusation?
Mulla Nazir: These tribes have done Jihad against the British and the Soviets before this, and we simply are Mujahideen. This propaganda against us is absolutely false. We have rose for Jihad and give sacrifices to establish the rule of Shariah. The assertions that we have come from India and that MOSAD finances us are a stratagem of the ISI. We haven’t received money from anyone and have been Mujahideen from old times. These tribes have been sacrificing since the British era and are laying down their lives to this day. We fight with them in Afghanistan too and are enemies of the occupation forces there. Such propaganda is utterly false and groundless. Anyone who is in doubt should come here and observe us and have a look at the state of affairs…and then come to a decision about who gives us money…is it India or someone else? Pakistan has put the people in deception that India or perhaps Russia finances us. Come on! We have warred Russia before this! And we are enemies to India and MOSAD.



As-Sahab: Is the general view about the Mujahideen rolling in riches and having lots of money correct? Or are their resources limited and their weaponry old?
Mulla Nazir: We do not rely on weaponry. The weapons we have are very few. Have a look at history. Look at the battle of Badr! How few were the material means! Look at Uhud! Nothing was being achieved because of means; rather, it was achieved by sacrifice. We are fighting this battle with the power of faith. We have no remarkable arms with us, nor is there anyone to provide us means and material. These old weapons are all we carry and our infrastructure runs by charity. The whole world is hostile to us...it isn’t aiding us.



As-Sahab: The past few years have witnessed great feats of the Mujahideen against America and her allies in Afghanistan. And it has become apparent that America has become helpless at the hands of the Mujahideen and is getting desperate. What do you think, how much more time would it take for America to flee from here and suffer a humiliating defeat?
Mulla Nazir: Allah willing, it will be in no time, America shall tear apart. It has already become powerless in Afghanistan and its forces are confined to their base camps. They are unable to roam freely and the total area is under control of the Mujahideen. Allah willing, you will hear the good news of the conquest of Afghanistan very soon. But we must avail ourselves of this golden time and offer sacrifices.



As-Sahab: The close defeat of America and her allies also in the rest of the world has become the topic of gossip nowadays; and it seems unquestionable, Allah willing…like in Iraq and in Somalia, where the Crusaders are being crushed despite America’s aid and support for them. Do you perceive America’s global downfall in the near future?
Mulla Nazir: It is very near…very near. Its economy has utterly collapsed. It is a loser in Somalia and Iraq and will soon lose in Afghanistan. The height of its thuggery has been reached, and from here will be the downfall.



As-Sahab: Our avowed enemies, the Jews have occupied Palestine since a very long time and slaughter the Muslims from time to time under false pretences. During the last days they massacred the Palestinian Muslims for a continuous three weeks in Gaza. What solution to this matter do you have with you and what are your sentiments regarding those who have remained unwavering in the Jihad against the Jews?
Mulla Nazir: Those who have risen over there are our brothers. The sacrifices given by the Mujahideen and the oppression of the Jews, both have been unbelievable. Allah willing, they shall pay for what they have done and we will avenge our brothers. We have started our preparations for that, and after America has been defeated, the Jews should consider their downfall in next to no time. These Mujahideen will reach them. They shall rise from Khurasan and reach Palestine. We want our Palestinian brothers know that we are with them…and that they should not hesitate to sacrifice. And those of them who have settled down should rise for Jihad. There is no solution other than unsheathing our swords. So they must carry out Jihad against the Jews whether plenty of means be with them or none at all, because Jihad has become obligatory upon us. We are with them and our hearts are with them. We have been grieved by the Israeli oppression and the massacre of four of five hundreds of our children there, and we will take revenge. We are with the Mujahideen, may they be in Kashmir or in Palestine. But the Muslims must organize themselves and stand up with their Mujahid brothers. We can never have our rights by way of politics and democracy. Our objectives are achieved by sacrifice.



As-Sahab: Presidential elections were held in America during the last days and Bush was replaced by Obama. Many people thought that there will be a great change in their policy regarding Pakistan and Afghanistan and these missile attacks shall cease. What do you feel, Is the situation changing or perhaps will change in the upcoming days?
Mulla Nazir: There had been a white ass that departed and now there is a black ass that has taken over. Expecting any good from their side is against our creed. Rather, it ruins our creed. We put our trust only in Allah, the Glorious; the Great. It isn’t correct for us to look forward to any relieve from Bush or Obama. Only Jihad soothes our difficulties.



As-Sahab: There is another allegation upon the Mujahideen that they do execute suicide attacks upon army men and other targets, but also deem it lawful to kill many Muslims along with them? What is your opinion about that? Is it lawful to kill a Muslim? And the Government of Pakistan makes the Scholars of vice issue fatwas that such operations may be lawful in Iraq or Afghanistan, but they are unlawful in Pakistan. What would you say about that?
Mulla Nazir: Actually, it is the ISI that executes operations at mosques, not the Mujahideen. They are enemies to us and so they scare people about us being thugs and things like that. We are Mujahideen and we never carry out martyrdom operations in the vicinity of Muslims. It is the Army upon which we execute such operations. The Army is our target because it has aided the Americans. We do carry out martyrdom operations throughout Pakistan but we renounce and condemn those of them in mosques and marketplaces. It is our enemy that does it.



As-Sahab: Regarding the Taliban of South Waziristan, the government sometimes pretends at the media and some analysts assert that they are in fact the government-made tribal militia formed to expel the Mujahideen from the region. They especially release such statements upon receiving pressure from America. What do you say about that?
Mulla Nazir: This isn’t true. We are being targeted in drone attacks. I was targeted in a drone attack myself. How come we are Pakistan’s serving militia?! We are the soldiers of Islam and we are Mujahideen, not some Pakistani horde. In fact, we are hostile to Pakistan and we are an Islamic army. Pakistan attacked me and attacks the rest of our brother Mujahideen by their drone aircrafts. How can we be Pakistan’s men?



As-Sahab: In the closing, we would talk about the messages you would like to give to the Muslim nation. So what would be your message to the Muslims, those living in Pakistan in particular, who have in their hearts the love and sympathy for the religion and somehow try to benefit it?
Mulla Nazir: I would like to confirm to them that Jihad has become an individual obligation. When the infidels lay siege to Muslim lands, as they have done in Afghanistan and Iraq, Jihad becomes obligatory upon each and every Muslim for the liberation of those Muslims’ lands. Obligatory in the same way that we perform our daily prayers at Zuhr, Asr and Maghreb. We never take permission from our parents to pray…but we still pray! Jihad is no different. It has become an individual obligation upon all Muslims in exactly the same manner. The oppression of kufr has exceeded all limits. Thus, it is an individual obligation upon the entire Muslim Ummah to do Jihad for the liberation of Iraq and Afghanistan and to bring the tyranny of kufr to an end.
We want our message to reach the Muslim nation that you must raise up for Jihad. It is true that there are always a few who sacrifice; but due to the ignorance of the rest, these too have been surrounded in difficulty. If the entire people stand up for Jihad, these problems will be solved, the rule of Shariah will be established, our worries will draw to a close and the world will see an Islamic revolution. But people have forsaken Jihad because of money and their riches and children.
We call upon the Muslim nation and remind them that our predecessors have waged Jihad. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did Jihad himself and has said that: “Jihad shall continue till the Resurrection Day.” Then the Noble Companions did Jihad and laid down their lives, and reached distant lands like Afghanistan and Constantinople. Their graves still exist in Afghanistan, in Constantinople and are scattered in every corner of the globe. Then came Salah-ud-din Ayubi and his likes and all of them exhausted the. Now we have inherited this earth and it is our turn to give sacrifices in the path of Allah so that Allah may be pleased with us. We do not have the power to spend day and night in worship to escape these times of tumult, oppression and mischief. The way out lies in Jihad, as it is the shortest route to Paradise and it is the tourism of this Ummah. (As said by the Messenger) “The tourism of my Ummah is Jihad in Allah’s path.” So I call upon the Ummah that they raise for Jihad.
The fear that the enemy has induced in the Muslim Ummah and the in rest of the world; this is mere propaganda by them, which the Mujahideen have triumphed over. They snatch booty from them and share it among themselves. They roam around in the Americans’ own cars. Therefore we advise the Muslim Ummah that you should not fear the enemy, nor become occupied with the love this world or of your riches and children. Give sacrifices in Jihad, so that this dilemma ends and Allah’s law rules Allah’s land.
We pray for all those in Pakistan who have stood up for the Mujahideen. Those who have laid down their lives, their sacrifices have been accepted, Allah willing. And we pray for those who are exhausting themselves in Allah’s path that their endeavors may be accepted. No doubt that difficulties and pains will come on the way, for Allah’s pleasure is earned only after enduring pains. Thus, as we see the Pakistani people support the Mujahideen, we are overjoyed here on the battleground and we pray for them. Those, who stand up for the sake of this modest group. The Holy Prophet had said: “Islam began and it was strange; and it will soon return to be strange as it had begun…so glad tidings be to the strangers.” Whoever follows the religion shall become a stranger. Have a look at the Mujahideen. They are not spared today, only because they have held onto the religion and practiced it. And so they seem strange to the people. These are the ones to whom the Holy Prophet has given glad tidings. So join them to earn these glad tidings and support the Mujahideen. We wage Jihad to please Allah, so you should be with us. It will make us happy.



As-Sahab: What are your sentiments regarding the leadership of the Mujahideen i.e. Mulla Muhammad Omar, Emir of the Believers and Shaykh Osama bin Laden?
Mulla Nazir: We want to say to them that we are your Mujahids and your soldiers. We await your orders. Let you have no worries, for the Mujahideen here in Waziristan alone suffice you. We are proud at your leadership and consider it an honor for us. We give away our lives at your command and feel proud to obey you at all times. We have offered sacrifices before this and shall continue with it. Be assured that we will never desert you in your Jihad. We are with you, and let you not be anxious, we have been there for you and we shall sacrifice more. The entire people in Waziristan pray for the Emir of the Believers, Mulla Muhammad Omar Mujahid, and the rest of our leadership; Sheikh Osama foremost among them; and lay down their lives in your leadership. We would like to tell them that you should never lose faith. We are with you.



As-Sahab: Those who have offered sacrifices in Pakistan…what happened in the Lal Masjid (Red Mosue) for instance, where so many people were martyred – Ulema among them – and Ghazi Abdur Rasheed was martyred too. Likewise, many other Ulema were put in jails. What would you like to say to raise their spirits and console them?
Mulla Nazir: Our success lies in martyrdom. Shahadah is our true victory. They should never despair because of it. We are with them and Allah willing, we shall avenge them at all costs. We will not spare Musharraf, who did this atrocity upon the Lal Masjid, murdered innocents and killed so many of the Taliban. The lions of Lal Masjid were our brothers, and we have grieved undoubtedly and were distressed at what has happened. We have commenced the Jihad from here and Allah willing, we are on our way to shatter their shackles. The day is not far when Islamabad will be in the hands of the Mujahideen. So let all those who have lived on elevate their spirits and stand up for us. And those who have been martyred, we ask Allah to enter them the gardens of Firdaus.



As-Sahab: We would now like you to convey your message to the people of Waziristan in the Pashtu language.

Mulla Nazir: My message to the people of Waziristan is that Jihad is an individual obligation upon you today, so you should exhaust yourselves in the Jihad today the same way you have fought the British and the Soviets before this. You have been unwavering in the present Jihad since seven years, so do not let your sacrifices go in vain at this point. You should sacrifice more. You are known in the world as an honorable people. The people everywhere revere you and lower their eyes at the sight of you. This is all because of the Jihad you uphold. Jihad has earned respect for these tribes. Honor lies in Jihad, not in the world nor its riches and wealth. Thus, you must not turn against the Mujahideen. Do not spy at the Mujahideen to earn a few rupees. And whoever does so, point him out to the Mujahideen and do not spare a single spy in the region.
You should not trust the Pakistani government. All the tumult and mischief that has been stirred up in our land and the hostility and hatred that had been inflamed between us…it is the evil work of this government. We all are Muslims and brothers to each other. Our predecessors have fought the British and the Soviets and humiliated them. Allah willing, America too shall see its defeat upon this land, so do not let go this honor and this success! Be with the Mujahideen! Even if you cannot participate with the Mujahideen in practical Jihad, you should support them financially. Provide them with food and lead them the way. A moment’s guard of the Mujahid is better than all night’s worship of a worshipper.
The people of Waziristan are a jealous people, while spying at the Mujahideen is a most despicable act. So let you be not among the despicable ones. The Pakistan Army is deluded that it is a great army... As it entered Waziristan and Wana, peace has deteriorated here and remains so until now. All these troubles upon us have been instilled by Pakistan and its army. The Americans landed in Angur Ada and the Pakistan Army has landed here, and they arrived in thousands to destroy the peace over here. When this Army wasn’t here, there was peace, prosperity and brotherhood. The mischief that prevails now, the hatred that has sprung up and the propaganda that thrives against the Mujahideen has all been brought by this Army.
Thus it is our message to the people that you should join the Mujahideen on this straight path to fight the Americans and the Pakistani Army, as they have accepted servitude to the Americans. Pakistan is foremost among the forty, forty-five of America’s allies. About 75-80% of the captives at Cuba have been handed over by Pakistan. The others of America’s friends have not served it so well. About two to three hundred containers of American supplies cross from over Pakistani land daily. This is the extent to which Pakistan serves America. 70% of the assistance America receives is provided by Pakistan. They have martyred our Mujahid brothers; those of them who were leading us and were our elders. Whenever we raise our head, Pakistan pursues us. Thus we are compelled to war Pakistan. It is not because India or Russia has bribed us…not at all…rather, we have been compelled to do so. Pakistan does not leave us alone. Neither do they spare any base camp, nor do they spare any Mujahid. Rather they kill us even in our homes. So you should forsake Pakistan’s friendship and join the Mujahideen.
All praise is to Allah, the Mujahideen have now joined forces; Gul Bahadur, Baitullah and we have all become one. All the Mujahideen have unified against their enemy. So you should not be deluded by the enemy. The Mujahideen are very pleased with their people, especially the people of Waziristan. You have partnered us in Jihad, given refuge to the Mujahideen and served them. Even when they were targeted in missile attacks, you did not tell them to go away. Rather, you stood up for them even then. It is my message to you, that you should be firm on this path. Allah willing, there is not much strain left. The difficulties will end in a year or two. Islam shall reign and there will be prosperity. At that time people will lament their loss in not having offered sacrifices and assisted the Mujahideen. So let you stand up with the Mujahideen.
You must never be inspired by the enemy’s propaganda or become their spies. Seven years have passed since the enemy endeavors to hunt down Osama and Mulla Omar, but they both are alive. Allah willing, the enemy is a loser even in its own country and is greatly distressed. You should toughen only a little, and the enemy is on the verge of defeat, Allah willing. I want to tell my brothers, especially those in South Waziristan that we are delighted with you and that you should be with us and support the Mujahideen with even more vigor. Allah willing, you shall be honored and all your worries will come to an end.



As-Sahab: May Allah reward you. At the closing of our conversation we ask Allah to bless our today’s gathering, and to make this dialogue a means to incite the Muslim Ummah upon Jihad and to help them recognize the Mujahideen who are fighting to defend it. And we pray to Allah that He grants us a blessed life in which we see the reign of Shariah and supremacy of the religion upon this land and that He makes the enemy taste a humiliating defeat at our hands and grants us a greatest and most elevated Shahadah.
And the last of our calls is that all praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
